Mitchell B. Meghpara, MD, is a board-certified, dual fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, hip arthroscopy, and total hip replacement. He sees patients at Austin Sports Medicine, which has locations in Austin, Bee Cave, Cedar Park, and Pflugerville, Texas. With advanced expertise in minimally invasive procedures and joint preservation, Dr. Meghpara helps athletes and active individuals recover from injuries and return to peak performance.

A Chicago native, Dr. Meghpara graduated cum laude from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign before earning his medical degree and completing his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He further honed his skills through a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he cared for professional athletes as an assistant team physician for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguins. He also provided orthopedic care for the University of Pittsburgh student-athletes.

Dr. Meghpara pursued additional specialized training in hip preservation and joint replacement at the American Hip Institute under renowned surgeon Dr. Benjamin G. Domb. His practice focuses on treating labral tears, femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), gluteus medius tears, proximal hamstring injuries, hip instability, and arthritis. He is skilled in hip arthroscopy and robotic-assisted direct anterior approach total hip replacement.

A respected researcher, Dr. Meghpara has published extensively in leading medical journals and serves on the Editorial Board for Arthroscopy. He is also a reviewer for the American Journal of Sports Medicine.

When not in the operating room, Dr. Meghpara enjoys traveling with his wife, Priya, trying new cuisines, golfing, biking, paddleboarding, and playing pickleball.
