Matthew W. Crozier, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures, and robotic-assisted joint replacement. A fourth-generation physician and Austin native, Dr. Crozier is dedicated to helping athletes and active individuals recover from injuries and regain their peak performance. He sees patients at Austin Sports Medicine, with locations in Austin, Bee Cave, Cedar Park, and Pflugerville, Texas.

Dr. Crozier graduated magna cum laude from Vanderbilt University, where he majored in Spanish and Neuroscience and played rugby. After a year of service work in Nicaragua, he earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He then completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Florida, serving as chief resident and providing care for high school and college athletes.

Pursuing advanced training, Dr. Crozier completed a prestigious sports medicine fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama, under renowned surgeon Dr. James Andrews. He served as an assistant team physician for Auburn University and treated athletes from the Alabama Ballet, the Chicago White Sox affiliate, and WWE.

Dr. Crozier specializes in fracture care, arthroscopic procedures, sports hernia treatments, and robotic-assisted partial and total knee replacements. He remains actively involved in orthopedic research, having authored a book chapter and presented at national conferences.

Since returning to Austin, Dr. Crozier continues to care for recreational, collegiate, and professional athletes. Outside of his practice, he enjoys the outdoors, staying active, and spending time with his wife, Fiona, and their children, Walker, Scarlett, and Pierce.
