Jena Whitley is a tenured Athletic Trainer from Canyon Lake, Texas. Jena found interest in Athletic Training during her Sophomore year in high school where she was able to see injuries from start to finish, finding joy in helping patients through their journey to recovery. Jena received her bachelor's degree in athletic training from Texas Lutheran University and her master's degree in athletic training from West Virginia University.
Jena has spent most of her career in collegiate athletics, working with WVU's volleyball team in her two years of graduate school. After receiving her master's degree, Jena then transitioned to a full-time employee at Southwestern University for the following seven years where she spent time as both an assistant athletic trainer to then head athletic trainer, working with all teams at the university during her time there. Jena has also gained high school and industrial experience in her time as an athletic trainer prior to working as a physician extender at Austin Sports Medicine.
Jena continues to find joy in helping individuals through both the physical and mental aspects of recovery.
Outside of work Jena likes to enjoy her time by reading, writing, spending time outdoors and enjoying the company of her loved ones.
