Brad Gillman, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand, shoulder, and upper extremity care. With advanced training in minimally invasive procedures, joint reconstruction, and arthroscopy, Dr. Gillman helps patients recover from injuries and regain function in their hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders. He sees patients at Austin Sports Medicine, with locations in Austin, Bee Cave, Cedar Park, and Pflugerville, Texas.
A native of Plymouth, Wisconsin, Dr. Gillman graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin at Platteville before earning his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He completed his orthopedic surgery internship and residency at Louisiana State University in Shreveport.
Following residency, Dr. Gillman pursued a hand and upper extremity fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He further refined his expertise with a prestigious shoulder and elbow fellowship at UT Health San Antonio, where he trained in advanced arthroscopic and arthroplasty techniques, as well as complex joint reconstruction.
Dr. Gillman is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. While his primary focus is on upper extremity injuries, he is experienced in treating a full range of orthopedic conditions.
Now based in Austin, Dr. Gillman enjoys helping patients return to their daily activities and active lifestyles. In his free time, he is an avid swimmer, fitness enthusiast, and advanced SCUBA diver with rescue diver certification. He also enjoys traveling and exploring his new home in Texas.
