This would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of our entire staff. A certified Orthopaedic Physician Assistant (OPA-C) or Orthopaedic Technician (OT-C) will assist each of the doctors in the office and surgery. The OPA-C is a professional physician extender who has met the criterion set forth by the National Board of Certification of Orthopaedic Physician Assistants. Each OPA-C maintains certification by complying with the bylaws of the NBCOPA. (www.asopa.org) The OPA-C is involved in patient care every step of the way, and serves as the primary communication link between patient and physician. The OPA-C is a vital part of patient care. Our licensed physical therapists have Master’s Degrees in Physical Therapy and years of clinical experience, caring for patients with orthopaedic injuries and issues. They will teach you how to take care of yourself by showing you how to do exercises and how to use your body properly to gain strength and mobility and prevent recurring injury. Our well-trained technicians provide MRI scans and X-Rays for patients. A certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) also assists our physicians in the office. The ATC is certified by the National Athletic Trainer’s Association Board of Certification and holds a Masters of Education degree in Exercise Science. (www.nata.org) An ATC specializes in illness and injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for all physically active people including the general public. Our administrative team works behind the scenes to make sure that Austin Sports Medicine runs efficiently and effectively for our patients. Customer Service Associates, Billing Associates, and Administration all work together to assure quality care and service. |
