Imaging Services
Diagnostic imaging tools provide a totally painless way for doctors to look inside your body. The pictures created during the exam provide information that can improve the diagnosis of certain musculoskeletal conditions and can eliminate the need to undergo diagnostic surgical procedures. X-ray uses electromagnetic radiation to depict bone structures. MRI, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, uses a magnetic field with radio frequency waves to depict soft tissue structures.
Surgery
Surgery is sometimes the only option to resolve certain musculoskeletal conditions. If surgery is recommended, we will give you the information you need to make decisions regarding your surgery. Austin Sports Medicine has a surgery center in our building for our patients. The surgical center is a state-of-the art ambulatory surgery center, where surgeons perform a broad range of outpatient procedures. We deliver the finest quality care with the utmost integrity and compassion from both our doctors and staff.

Physician Assistants
A certified Orthopaedic Physician Assistant (OPA-C) or Orthopaedic Technician (OT-C) will assist each of the doctors in the office and surgery. The OPA-C is a professional physician extender who has met the criterion set forth by the National Board of Certification of Orthopaedic Physician Assistants. Each OPA-C maintains certification by complying with the bylaws of the NBCOPA. (www.asopa.org)
The OPA-C is involved in patient care every step of the way, and serves as the primary communication link between patient and physician. The OPA-C is a vital part of patient care.
Physical Therapy
Our licensed physical therapists have Master’s Degrees in Physical Therapy and years of clinical experience, caring for patients with orthopaedic injuries and issues. They will teach you how to take care of yourself by showing you how to do exercises and how to use your body properly to gain strength and mobility and prevent recurring injury.
Imaging Team
Our well-trained technicians provide MRI scans and X-Rays for patients.
Athletic Trainer
A certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) also assists our physicians in the office. The ATC is certified by the National Athletic Trainer’s Association Board of Certification and holds a Masters of Education degree in Exercise Science. (www.nata.org)
